Red Rock Pass, Book One

Keith Winston is a soldier who's tired of fighting. His pack needs him, so he's come home to Red Rock, Montana in hopes of finding a bit of peace. Instead, he's sent on a rescue mission, where he finds one delicious complication--Abigail Adler, a new wolf on the run from a corrupt alpha.

Abby feels an instant, primal connection to Keith, one that could become very real--and literal--when he offers to bond with her. Though she's grateful for the sanctuary she's found in Red Rock, she can barely wrap her head around what it means to be a werewolf. She's in no position to take a mate--but the dangerous passion Keith stirs in her won't be denied.

Then her tormentor kidnaps her sister in an attempt to lure her out of hiding. To save her, Abby and Keith must be willing to do the very thing that could tear them apart forever--break all of the rules.

Cry Sanctuary Red Rock Pass #1 edition by Moira Rogers Romance eBooks

The story follows two main characters and some good side ones. Keith is struggling to come to terms with a past he doesn't like. Abigail has been forced into a world she didn't know existed while her friend Dylan trying to accept that there are better packs out there than the one he was in. You meet two Alphas that are awesome people and one that sucks. There are plenty of struggles, lust, love, and comradeship to learn to love these well written characters. The action is well described and nail biting in a few spots. The ending leaves satisfied enough but with some questions unanswered to keep you wanting more. There are plenty of paths that this story can take and it will be a great series to continue.

The story was definitely well written with great characters that are believable and easy to understand. The only negative I can really say is that there were plenty of instances where the writer kept saying she (Abigail) just doesn't understand this or that, and then offers no explanation. So, I kept reading "She just doesn't know or understand...", and I kept thinking no crap - could you explain it?!? Never really got that many answers though - which I suppose is why it's a series and they need to do that so you'll get the other books. It was a good read and I would recommend it.

Cry Sanctuary Red Rock Pass #1 edition by Moira Rogers Romance eBooks Reviews

This is the first book in the Red Rock Pass series and a good start for the series. I enjoyed how the sparks flew between Keith & Abbey right from the start. I liked how Abbey is a strong dominant even though she doesn't realize it at first, and how Keith was able to help balance her out. I really liked how the author set up the mentoring system for new wolves and hope to hear more about it in future installments in this series. Overall this was a quick enjoyable read and I will most likely pick up the rest of the series sometime in the future.
Cry Sanctuary by Moira Rogers is a futuristic paranormal werewolf action romance and a good start to the series.

This stand-alone novel has danger, action, passionate heat, friendships and new beginnings. The characters are interesting with depth and personality. The writing is good and the pace is both steady and fast. The POVs alternate between alpha male enforcer Keith and newly converted Abby who escapes to the sanctuary Red Rock Pass pack from the pack that took her humanity against her will.

The language and situations in this book are definitely R-rated.
I stumbled across this book & thought why not. Something about the cover & blurb drew me in. A chapter in & I wanted to read more, half way through... well I was HOOKED!! I couldn't put it down & quickly found myself at the end. There was so much happening within, a war being faught, werewolf alpha's changing people agaist their will, werewolves on the run from tyrannical alphas & seeking sanctuary with alphas known to help & protect their packs... throw in new rules to learn for recently turned she-wolf & a kid-napping... you can understand me being sucked in. 'Cry Sanctuary' is book 1 in Moira's "Red Rock Pass" series, I can't wait to read the next books in this series.
I really loved this story. Although featuring werewolves, the characters remained in their human form throughout. This provides somewhat of an anticipation of what's to come in the series. With small amounts of sexual content, generally I would term this book as being a suspense. There's drama enough to have kept my attention squarely on the storyline, eager to find out where it was leading to. Adult content is mild to warm, with a few explicit words thrown in here and there, but that's not the story focus. Overall, it was a great read!
I think I might have enjoyed this a bit more than some of the other reviewers, but it wasn't anything new or impressive. It read a little more like a novella than a full on novel as there were parts that seemed thrown together and pieces skimmed over.

If you are looking for a little paranormal romance that is solid and reliable, then this is for you. The characters weren't fully developed, but you got the general idea who they were. Part of this was the need to set up a bit of a backdrop for future stories, I think. I found Ms. Rogers depiction of pack rules to be interesting and LOVED the touch that the heroine was a strong wolf, but because of her circumstances didn't know what the heck was going on.

It was light, funny and romantic. There were one or two plot points that left our characters making silly decisions and that was a bit annoying. And the sequence of events wasn't exactly surprising- no twists, turns or cliffhangers here. BUT! If you can overlook that and just focus on the fun stuff, you will enjoy this.

The Alpha she ran from kidnaps her sister in an attempt to lure her out of hiding. In order to save her sister, Abby and Keith must be willing to do the unthinkable that could tear them apart forever--break all the rules. Great story. Cliffhanger. Can't wait to read the next one in the series to find out what happens next.
This book started out good with a lot of action right from the beginning but the main characters spoiled the whole book for me, especially Abby. Everyone kept telling her she was strong but I didn't see it. She had been turned into a werewolf only about a month before the story began and I found it difficult to believe that no one explained anything to her. She arrives at a sanctuary and has lots of people around to explain everything to her and she says she understands and has no more questions but the next minor crisis that comes up, she breaks down again crying out she didn’t understand what was happening. She was so irritating that it spoiled the whole story for me.
